I melted...

Every night at around 7:30, me and the kids go through the bedtime routine of brushing teeth, washing hands, reading storys, singing "you are my sunshine", and a prayer.

Tonight my heart melted at prayer time.
Kierci folded her hands like everynight and closed her eyes tight as she could and this was her prayer...
"thank you God for letting me take snack and show and tell to school. Thank you for my mommy and Baxter and Benelli."

Then she started to sing durring her prayer...

"I love you God. Jesus please bring back my baby. We want her back now. I miss you God and her."

That just made my heart melt! She understands in her own way. and she sang her song very beautifully! for real. I love that little girl! and she is a GREAT big sister, not only to Roo, but to little Lincoln Eis just as well!

My Girl

Just looking at this picture, while she is upstairs safley tucked into bed, makes me miss her...look at that smile.
when she smiles her eyes smile...I love that!

Mommy time :)

Today was probably one of the best days I have had in a long time.
It was just me and the kids. Mommy time, outside of the house...it was great!
First we went to the park, then we walked the trails, the kids loved that!
After the trails, we did something that we dont do alot of around here...we went to Dairy queen for ice cream cones!!!! They were thrilled! Malachi was even really good even though he didnt have a nap AT ALL today.
I see alot more mommy time in the future...its nice to get out of the house!!

Yes,they are goofy!

They do have toys...

My parents DO have toys for the kids to play with, but somehow singing into a cane and vaccuming the kitchen floor is far more fun than toys!

family photo is a no-go.

We tried to get a picture of me with the kids. There are not many of those for 2 reasons.

1. I can't even get a picture of the both of them together without screaming and total frustration.

2. I am the only one around.

so these are as close to family photos( -dad) that i have with help from my mom.

yep, shes that good! :)

costumes

We decided that we wouldn't do big expensive costumes this year. We figured we would just stay in and hand out candy.

Then on Kiercis pre school calender there is a halloween party where they get wear there costumes...well she dont have one, so we figured she could wear one of her dress up cloths. When i went to get it out I had forgotten about the tear in the sleeve!!!

So we settled it. We bought her a cinderella dress from aldi. ONLY $14 !! And we had to have some play make up and hair glitter...

Then for Rooney, since she is a princess we thought he could be the night in shinning armor. They have chest plates and accessories at the dollar tree...so there you go, our still kind of cheap halloween!

Boy.

Muscatine power and water came today to trim a big old elm tree in out alley, so of course we decided to watch them work.

Malachi LOVED the truck. Every time the basket(whatever it is called) would raise up Rooney would shout "WEEEEE..." and then when the guy would throw a branch, he would say "OOOOOH." He also loved the hard hats the men were wearing. It was so adoreable!

Then there was miss Kierci.

"bye now. have fun working at other peoples houses."
"are they going to leave yet. They are too noisy."

And that is the difference between boy and girl.

GROSE!

We have a HUGE spider living in our scarecrow! yuk! hopefully I remember that when I take him down and bring him in for the seasons lol.
I am dying to get the christmas stuff out! i cant wait to put up the tree and the decorations!!! and this year we WILL do lights! I cant wait! The kids are going to love it! me too :)

when Kierci is away, Rooney will...vaccuume??

Yes. We vaccumme our leather...it gets dusty.

October then...

They dont even look like my babies!!!!!!

Kierci looks like such a little girl with her short hair and bangs.

And Rooney...wherer's the hair!!! He was such a chubby big boy and now he is our little roo!

They really do grow up too fast! :(

This was taken just 1 year ago.

October now...

O.K I tried to get a decent picture of the two by there pumkins...but it didn't happen, so I settled for a pic of each.

Kierci insisted on wearing her dress-up clothes and Rooney HAD to have daddys box of roofing nails (why they were on the front steps? I have no idea) or there would be no picture of Roo at all.

The Band

So the kids decided to start a band. Kierci got out the pots and pans and I was in a rather good mood, so I gave them some spoons for the cause. This is what happened. As you can tell Kierci was emotionally and physically into her drum playing...And malachi...well...He was making "hot soup"

It doesn't get more Iowa than this!

Unfortunatly, there wont be many more warm days in Iowa to ride the "4 wheel" with grampy, or to sit on the warm grass and eat watermelons...but this summer was a good one!

Cleaning Day

Today is my cleaning day to clean grandma van weys house. After that i wrestled a 12 1/2 pound turkey...I even bathed it in butter! Hopefully it will be dont before DJ has to leave for class!!!

Mommys shoes, daddys hat and no pants!

Tutu, sneakers,and hopscotch

At the rental house

The kids love "helping" out with the rental house.
Malachi painted the floor white (yes, he was allowed to)
And daddy found Kierci a BIG caterpillar...But just like the lady bug, it was short lived, thanks to who else...Malachi.
He took a paint roller (full of paint) and pounded the poor bug till it couldn't move.
He is sweet...but he is BOY!

Painting

Going to rental house with kids...hopefully we can get some cellings painted :P

and then it happened!

Malachi stomped on that bug! And was he ever proud...look at that smile!...I only wish I could have gotten kierci's reaction as well. we will just say she was not very happy with rooney, and there was pinching and a time out involved.

lady bug.

Today the entertainment for the day was this little red lady bug.

After they had fought over the scooter, they felt it was only fair to mommy if they fight over who gets the bug...and they did for about a half hour.

Kierci decided the lady bugs name is(was) well, none other than "Kierci." I thought that was a pretty name :)

Baxter

O.K this is my parents boston terrier...these are some funny pics (seriously, not altered) :)

Did you know...?

We were outside yesterday, and Kierci said to me "Mommy, you make the best cheese ever. You are the bestest at making food."

Hmm...? I dont recall ever making cheese. Maybe she was reffering to the 3 week old sippy cups of chunked milk she finds from time to time hidding under beds and in toy boxes??? That is closest I have come to making cheese. But im glad I make the best!!! :)

thats my Kierci!

Yep, This is Iowa!

Its crazy that just last weekend we were wearing shorts...and this week we are wearing stocking caps...thats Iowa weather for ya.

So Cute!

She must have some food on her face. The only time Magnum ever gets that close to her is to bite her...which she always desrves. Of course he just gives a little warning nip...well wouldnt you if she piche dyou and pushed you off couches and so on. :)

not a good morning...

Mr.malachi decided to once again wake up at 5am so he has not been to pleasant yet today. However we did still manage to make our usual Friday grocery trip with no major melt downs...then we got home and it all went downhill from there!
But look how adoreable he is when he crys!!

more outdoor fun!

The kids were having races up and down the sidewalk. Kierci would win going uphill, and surprisingly, Malachi won going downhill...every time! Maybe it had somthing to do with him hogging the whole sidewalk so she couldn't get past...

and here they are...

Here are the pine cones Kierci painted and "sprinkled" ( put glitter on.) they will make perfect christmas decorations and a perfect show and tell.

its kind of hard to see them against our counter tops, but take it from me they look great :)

perfect morning for a walk...

we woke up this morning, all in pretty fair moods, so we decided to walk to the park...
The pine cones we found were a big hit! we took home about 5 of them, Kierci wanted to take them for show and tell at school. Now my pockets smell pine fresh!
I think we will paint the pine cones and save them for christmas decorations. The kids will love that!
